Actually, I prefer to think of it as the Runes are an attempt (and a fairly
sucessful one) to understand some of the deep secrets of Glorantha. I think
that the runes REPRESENT some of the deep truths, but I do not think that they
are an intrinsic part of those secrets. The Kralorelan runes probably represent
other deep secrets, or represent some of the same things in different ways.
I think that there are definately deep underlying laws to Glorantha,
and I think that most of them have to with HeroQuesting, and with Heroquests
as active mythology building. The Runes are a good way to understand what powers
you are dealing with when heroquesting.
I agree that the sense of deep underlying laws of the universe is
one of the attractions of glorantha, but I just never really saw the Runes as
an integral part of it.
