Hey! I never said I *like* this method! I was just offering it
up as a devil's advocate thing. Personally, I'm against the
high roll under skill wins contests rule, and for either
1. best degree of success wins (special beats normal, etc)
and highest skill wins if degrees are tied and there has
to be a winner.
2. best degree of success wins, and highest margin of success
in same degree is the winner.
And I'd stick with the same old critical and special rules, maybe
adding some Steve Maureresque super criticals (going from 1/5 to
1/20 to 1/100 to 1/500 to 1/2000 to 1/10000 and so on) if they
are necessary for runelevels.
