As far as I know the only way for a fetch to
materialize is through a Visibility spell.

Unless the PC has some special means of starting
spirit combat ('Attack Soul', Spirit Moss, etc), I do
not think they can. If the PC manages to win then the
spirit can be bound or sent away.

Not sure if he can in the first place.

Nothing physical can touch a discorporate spirit.
