YGWV. IMG, they are actually babirusas, which we called "pig" for simplicity. And in fact the connection with Wenelia was important, since that's the ancient origin of many of the Umathings. I also used the practice (which IIRC is from New Guinea) of domestic sow which are fertilized by wild boars.
