The answer is simple, when the flesh is cut away and replaced with machine parts, that which is left is sent for reprocessing. When an enemy falls in battle, his corpse is never recovered. The dead of Zistor are not buried. Those that do not pass the initiation ceremonies are never seen again. Those that no longer have a function in society, be it through injury or age can go to the Halls of Rest and become one with Zistor. The Zistorites stole some of their secrets from the Mostali, the dwarves have long eaten Alpha Red, Beta Green, Gamma Yellow and Monthly Stew, all produced by the Food Processors, so why couldn't the enterprising Zistorites use similar processes, basically what I am saying is....
