My carreer as a roleplayer started back when I was in high-school in the middle of the 1980's. With a bunch of friends we started to play RuneQuest but soon we also started with other games, like MERP and RoleMaster. We also tried other games as Palladium RPG and Bushido. When high-school ended, we split up, but continued gaming for some time. Eventually it faded, and we stopped playing for some time. But in 1990, we started again and begun a new campaing, which still is running. It is the A-TEAM campaign, that I still consider as my main RQ campaign. Since that we have also had other RQ campaigns with the guys, one very short Nippon-RQ and then one long RQ campaign. Now we just have started once again a new campaign, called the Pavis campaign. In addition to RQ we have tried also on Call of Cthulhu and Paranoia, but they have been just a sidepath. After my graduation from high school I started at the university, and there I met more people who played RPG games. I found one RQ2 group, and with them we played for over ten years, before our lives had changed so much, that we lost contact with each other. Its sad, as we had fun. Also I met one guy, who introduced me to their RoleMaster group, and I have been playing with the since 1987, first mainly RM in several campaigns, but lately we have got new memebers and have played a lot of different games, that are not anymore played. One of my friends is running a convetion only campaign, Charlie ei Surffaa, a Vietnam campaign. I have been testing that with him before it was first launched in the 1996. Currently we have all these campaigns active:

This is a Swedish roleplaying game, our GM found when he was visiting Sweden. Here we play in the early 1870's, currently we are back in New Mexico. I play two different characters, Indjun-killer Pete, our leader and the bounty-hunter Xerxes Bountinis. Pete is a very fast drawer and an accurate shooter. His nick-name he earned when the party was attacked by a small raiding indian party at a coach-station, where he killed alone eight indians and saved the party. He is also very greedy and doesn't hesitate to get more money for himself if possible. Other characters are a rich British Lord with his retinue, Bobba, a texan, and Carlos a mexican. Carlos gets one dollar for each killed opponent from Pete, and from not having anything except one set of white clothes, sombrero and a gun, he now has a horse, better clothes, boots and a gold watch, making him feeling very rich. During the adventures Pete has, as the leader of the pack, taken the most of the booty and income to himself. This way he has been able to gather a big sum of money. The two goldtacks he found in one old grave, which he managed to take without anyone noticed, of course helped. With the riches he has invested in better weapons and has money in the banks and even stock market. Xerxes got nearly killed a few adventures ago, and has been since that in hospital, the recovery will take several months.

This is run by the same GM as the Western campaign, and is thus played even more seldom than it. We are living in the 6th century Scandinavia, close to the westcoast of Sweden.

Here we live in the 14th century Scotland. We have already been also in Ireland, looking for a "Shooting Star", that fell down with magical consequenses. We have a covenant there with four magicians, and a small village. This is run by a different GM, and has now been waiting for it's naxt gaming time, when the other campaigns came for their time to wait.

My character, captain England, commanded a frigate on a special mission to central america. There he captured a much bigger spanish frigate and brought it back home to England. But he made also a powerful enemy of the local ruler, as his orders were to help the "El Supremo" in his fight against the spanish. When El Supremos castle was captured, Capt England decided to leave the area, to the dismay of El Supremo. Previously he has captured from the French the frigate he was commanding. It was riskfull mission, when he was Master and Commander of the sloop-of-war Dolphin, as he captured the frigate from a french harbour with a castle that almost shot the ship into pieces. On his first raid he captured two French merchant ships, but one of them exploded, the other, filled with powder he captured and brought back home for a nice reward. With all this reward-money he has now bought himself a small estate, the Whalton Manor in Northumbria, close to Newcastle. He plans this to be his retirement place in a few years time.
He's next assignment was commanding a brand new frigate called the HMS Northstar in the Mediterrainian, and his mission was to keep on an eye on Djerba, the French harbour in Tunisia. He managed to capture one French small vessel, while a frigate barely esceped him to the safety of the harbour, before it could be sunk. The fleet of three lineships and Capt Englands frigate attacked very successfully to the harbour of Djerba where the French had four ships of the line, two frigates and two corvettes. The English managed to capture two French lineships, two French frigates and one corvette. One French lineship was burnt so badly, it can't be used before it is repaired at a shipyard. The fourth lineship was also captured, but then the French managed to retake it, leaving it as the only warship in the harbour. One corvette got away, and now HMS Northstar is patrolling the waters for possible French attacks. In the city of Djerba, there is a big French infantry unit stranded, now when their transport was captured, and thus it is likely that a French attack will happen in the near future.
After patrolling the waters for some time, they saw in Tripoli a boat which exactly looked like the French corvette, but this was bearing the flag of the local rulers, i.e. Bey's. To get a closer look, they went into the harbour to "examine" a British merchantman laying there. The merchantman told that the French corvette had arrived a few days ago, and had then had the ceremony where it had been handed over to the local rulers. A few days later they saw outside Benghazi an American slaveship which had been captured by pirates. Northstar captured it quite brutally, killing several of its crew and the captains children. They gave some help crew to get it sailed to Palermo, the closest safe harbour. A letter awaited Capt. England from the American slaveship, he cursed HMS Northstar for its brutality.
When back on patrol, they saw four French ships, two frigates and two small local sailboats. After trying to capture them in a brave manouver, and getting one of them badly maimed, their luck turned, and the other Frenchman managed to board HMS Northstar and capture it. On the ship was a small-sized general with his command, named Napoleon...

The third of our GMs had us to visit a snowy small planet where our nations troops had been "forgotten" behind, and we needed to rescue the ones that were alive. We barely escaped after we got the local military pursuing us, because we blow away a spaceport used by a local drug lord.

One of our newest restarts is our Pendragon campaign. Here we play in early 6th century, our lord lives in Escavalon, close to the Welsh borders. Earlier our lands were raided by a neighbouring known villant, and we almost managed to kill him. We also conqured his castle, and it was added to our lords lands. After this we have also killed a demon, who had taken control over castle and a small village. It was actually the wizard who Merlin asked the party to kill it. Since that the first ever tournament in Britain has been held in London, and now King Arthur has had the first war against the opposing kings from the northern parts. Our characters were actually at the site when the stone with the sword fell down from the sky. The GM runs the same setting also with a second group, giving him some headaches, as what they do might impact us, and vice-versa. If they have an empty seat, I sometimes go and play with them also, as I have several characters available. Please read more in my Pendragon pages.

My hope is to play maybe once every second week, but sometimes I still have longer periods without gaming even with the different groups, and then sometimes I might play several times during one week. RPG:s is one of my big hobbies in life, even if don't spend as much time with them as I used to in my youth.
